A well-known former Fairfield resident, Mrs. Gerald (Mary) Burton,84, ofTerre Haute, Ind., died Thursday evening, April 25, 1985, at a Terre Hautenursing home.

She was the sister-in-law of Frank Burton, of Geff.

Graveside funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. Monday (today) at Pleasant Grove Cemetery near Geff. Hosselton Funeral Home, of Cisne, handled the arrangements.

Mrs. Burton was born in Wayne County, Dec. 13, 1900, the daughter of H. B.and Lillie Winter. She was wed to Gerald Burton Aug. 31, 1921. Mr. Burton preceded her in deathin 1982.

Mrs. Burton was a housewife and homemaker during her marriage. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Christian Church.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Hope Montgomery, of Niles; Mrs. JeanFriend, of Terre Haute, Ind.; Mrs. Marjorie McDowell, of Tucker, Ga.; one son,Garth Burton, of Highland; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
