A well-known Ellery farmer, Charles William "Skee" Hilgeman, 55, died at10:40 p.m. Tuesday, Apr. 16, 1985, at Deaconess Hospital, Evansville, Ind., ofcancer. He was the husband of Lillian Woods Hilgeman.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Nale's Funeral Home,Albion, with Rev. Tony Crouch officiating. Visitation will be conducted after 5p.m. Thursday (today) at Albion.
Mr. Hilgeman was born in Albion Apr. 23, 1929, the son of Gilbert R. and Edna Chism Hilgeman. He wed Lillian Woods in West Salem, July 22, 1950.
Mr. Hilgeman was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving with the U.S.Army. He was discharged as a corporal.
He was a member of Christian Church; Albion American Legion and Moose.
Survivors include his wife, Lillian Hilgeman, of Ellery; one son, Charles(Chuck) Hilgeman, of Bone Gap; and a grandson, Kyle Hilgeman, of Bone Gap.
Preceding him in death were both parents.
