Ivan V. Crooks, 84, of Rt. 1, Cisne, died at 9:30 p.m. Thursday, July 14,#1994, at Fairfield Memorial Hospital. Mr. Crooks had been in failing health.
He was former Cisne postmaster, oil field worker and farmer. He retired as Cisne postmaster in 1978.
Funeral rites were conducted Sunday afternoon from the Hosselton Funeral Home in Cisne, with Rev. Ernie Lewis officiating. Interment was in Cisne Cemetery. A visitation was held Saturday evening at Hosselton's.
He was born at Cisne Mar. 19, 1910, the son of Charles and Jennie Flanders Crooks. On Oct. 5, 1935, in Cisne, he was married to Mildred Bunnel. She passed away June 3, 1991.
Also preceding him in death were his parents, one brother and two sisters.
He was a member of the Blue Point Free Will Baptist Church. Mr. Crooks was a World War II veteran.
Surviving are one son, Eric Crooks, of Bloomington; and one daughter, Joan Crooks of Cisne.
