Cora O. Blessing 92, Fairfield, died at 6:15 a.m., Sunday, Dec. 25, 1988. at St. Frances Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
 

She had received a blow to the head after a fall on Dec. 18, and was rushed by LifeFlight to St. Frances for brain surgery.   She died of complications.

Services will be held Wednesday at 3:00 in Johnson Chapel with Brother Carroll Kakac officiating. Burial is in Maple Hill Cemetery. Visitation is tonight from 6-9 p.m.

Mrs. Blessing was born on Sept. 26, 1896 in Wayne County, the daughter of William and Evaline (Clay) Grove.  On Dec. 25, 1917, she was married to Fred Blessing at the home of her parents in Wayne County. Mr. Blessing, a farmer in the
Geff-Enterprise area, preceded her in death on Feb. 7, 1961.

In 1959 she was a charter member of the Homemakers Extension Council. She was also a member of the Evergreen Garden Club.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Edward "E.C." (Melba) Russell of Herrin, Ill., and 6 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two sons, Darrell and Orlyn Blessing.
