Mrs. George (Dorothy) Tomlinson of Fairfield Route 3, received word Thursday morning (today) that her sister Mrs. Chuck (Marge) Spence, 50, of Leroy, died Thursday morning (today) in a hospital from burns following a fire in her home.

Her son, Jim, a teenager, attempted Wednesday night to get his mother out of the fire.  Details of the fire were not known here Thursday (today).

Mr. and Mrs. Tomlinson, members of the First Baptist Church, are both employed at Airtex. They left immediately for Leroy.

Mrs. Tomlinson's niece, Mrs. Jamie Ferrell-Lesterwick of Carbondale, and her husband, Darrell, were both injured Tuesday night in an automobile accident in that city.

Her husband is in a Carbondale hospital with a broken nose, ribs and head injuries. Mrs. Lesterwick Suffered broken ribs and numerous other injuries.
