Marjorie (Rogers) Staley, 70, of Benedict, Neb., died at 7:29 a.m. Monday, Dec. 5, at the York General Hospital in York, Neb.
She had suffered a heart attack a couple of days prior to her death. She is a sister of Rev. Roy Rogers of Rinard and Edna Gibbs of Fairfield.
Services are to be held at 1:30, Saturday, Dec. 10, at the Bethel United Methodist Church in Clay City with Rev. Roy Rogers and Rev. Kenneth Bissey presiding. Burial will be in Zif cemetery. Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. Thursday (tonight) at the Hosselton Funeral Home in Cisne.
Mrs. Staley was born on Aug. 9, 1918 in Clay City to Alpha and Lottie (Mickel) Rogers. She was married to Rex Staley of Clay City . They had been divorced for about ten years.
She left with her husband, who was an oil field worker in Clay City, for Northern Illinois in the 1940s. They moved to South Dakota, where she lived until the time of their divorce. She then moved with her children to Benedict, Neb.
Mrs. Staley was a member of the Bethel United Methodist Church in Clay City.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Curtis (Patsy) Bryant of Rochelle, Ill.; Mrs. Dick (Peggy) Frederickson of York, Neb.; Mrs. Henry (Judy) Sanders and Mrs. Paul (Mary Kaye) Cerny, both of Benedict, Neb.; one sister, Edna Gibbs of Fairfield; one brother, Rev. Roy Rogers of Rinard; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents and four sisters.
