Mrs. Ada Frances Brown, 74, of Carmi died at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, 1996, at the Skilled Care Unit of White County Hospital in that city.

A homemaker, she was a native of Centerville.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday from the Kittinger-Fair Funeral Home in Carmi, with burial in the Centerville Cemetery.  Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

She was born at Centerville Mar. 29, 1922, the daughter of Martin Edward and Eva May Williams Vaught.  She was married to Jesse Brown.  He died in 1989.

Surviving are two sons, Martin (Eddie) Weaver, of Carmi; and Richard Weaver, of Carmi; one step-son, Jesse Brown, Jr., of Millington, Tenn.; one step-daughter, Mrs.  Kenny (Sue) Smithpeters, of New Orleans, La.; two grandsons; five step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; and special friend, Dan Usery.
