Mrs. Emma H. Smith, 94, a former Fairfield resident died early Saturday morning at Lincoln Manor in Decatur.

Mrs. Smith was a retired school teacher.

Funeral rites were conducted Monday afternoon (today) from Nale's Funeral Home in Fairfield, with Rev.  Ronald Bogart officiating.  Burial was in Maple Hill Cemetery.  Visitation was held at Nale's one hour before the service.

She was born in Fairfield Apr. 21, 1902, the daughter of Frank and Annie Gray Holstein.  She was married to Jesse McCorkle and he preceded her in death in 1934. On Dec. 24, 1944, she was married to George E. Smith. He passed away in June 1988.

Mrs. Smith was a member of the Fairfield First United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Victory Unit of Home Extension and the Retired Teachers Association.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. James (Frances) Stephens, of Decatur; a sister, Louella Reinhardt, of Tower, Minn.; two grandsons and two great- grandchildren.

In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister.
