Mrs. Esther L. Armstrong, 75, of Xenia, died at 6:24 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 1, 1996, at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, Mo. She was a Wayne County native and a housewife.

Funeral rites were conducted Sunday afternoon from the Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora, with Bro. Ed Pool officiating. Interment was in the Odd Fellows Cemetery at Xenia. Visitation was held at the funeral home Saturday evening.

She was born in Wayne County Mar. 23, 1921, the daughter of Frank and Bertha Sutton Felty, Sr.. In 1937 she was married to Stanley Armstrong.

Mrs. Armstrong was a member of the Xenia Christian Church and the Xenia/Flora Ladies Pinochle Club.

Preceding her in death were her parents, one son and three brothers.

Surviving are her husband; three sons, Rex, Bob and Jim Armstrong, all of Xenia; three sisters, Mrs. Stanley (Margie) Makarczyk, of Flora; Audrey Moore, of Lebanon; and Mrs. Earl (Clara) Pierson, of Flora; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
