Jimmie W. Carter, 59, Dies At Memorial Hospital E.R. Jimmie W. Carter, 59, of Rt. 2 Fairfield, died at 11:53 p.m. Saturday at the Fairfield Memorial Hospital emergency room, following a massive heart attack at his home.

Mr. Carter was a farmer. At one time he was a barber in Fairfield. He had served as Jasper Township Assessor for a number of years.

He had some heart problems and was at the hospital earlier last week.

Funeral rites will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday from the J@hnson Funeral Home, with Elder Dale Warren officiating. Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery. Visitation at the J@hnson Chapel will be from 6 to 9 Tuesday evening.

He was born in Shelby County, Ill., Jan. 23, 1937, the son of Harry and Bessie Jane Holley Carter. On May 22, 1955, he was married to Joyce Walker.

Mr. Carter was a member of the RLDS Church here.

Surviving are his wife; two sons, Jerry, of Geff; and Joey, of Fairfield; two daughters, Janette Zurliene, of Fairfield; and Jennifer Eckleberry, of Cisne; two brothers, Warren Carter of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; and Lawrence (Til) Carter, of Geff; three sisters, Elda Lou Ralston, Mary Ann Mayo and Vera Mae Self, all of Arizona; and eight grandchildren
