Christopher C. Henson, 86, of Bethalto, died 7 p.m. Sunday, July 15, 1990, at St. Anthony Hospital in Alton, following an extended illness.

He was a native of Sims and a member of the Sims Missionary Baptist Church for 50 years.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday from the Elias-Smith Funeral Home in Bethalto, with Rev. Charles S. West officiating.  Graveside services will then be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday from the Pin Oak cemetery at Sims. Visitation at the funeral home will be 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.

Mr. Henson was employed in the engineering department of Shell Oil at Wood River for 23 years.

He was born Jan 22, 1904, at Sims, the son of Squire and Della Miller Henson.

On June 22, 1929, in Alton, he was married to Edna G. Ebersohl. She passed away Nov. 27, 1988.

Surviving are two sons, Carl C. Henson and Wayne E. Henson, both of Bethalto; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild; and a sister, Mary Warren, Fairfield.
