*PEORIA* - Charles C. Sons Jr., 91, of Peoria passed away at 5:25 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 20, 2010, at The Apostolic Christian Home in Eureka.

He was born Jan. 15, 1919, in Fairfield, Ill., to Charles C. and Dessie M. Dickey Sons. He married Ellen P. Caucci on Jan. 22, 1949, in Hibbing, Minn. She survives.

Also surviving is one son, Phillip C. Sons of Troy, Mich.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Carol M. Sons in 1959; one brother; and one sister.

He graduated from the University of Missouri with a B.A. in civil engineering.

He was a World War II Army veteran, serving in the Solomon Islands.

He was a civil engineer for Caterpillar Inc. for over 25 years and was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church in Peoria Heights.

A funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2010, at St. Thomas Church. Monsignor William A. Watson will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before services at the church. Burial will be in St.
Joseph Cemetery in West Peoria.
