MT. VERNON -- Glenda Rae Murphy, 72, of Bloomfield, Ind., passed away at 9:08 p.m. Saturday Nov. 27, 2010, at the Indiana University Simon Cancer Center in Indianapolis.

Glenda was born June 26, 1938, in Wayne County, the daughter of Wayne and Wilma (Russell) Wilson.

She worked as a social worker for the State of Indiana for 38 years and was a member of the Psi Iota Xi in Bloomfield.

Surviving relatives include her husband of 47 years, Robert D. Murphy of Bloomfield; two children, Kelly Murphy and wife DeAnna of Avon, Ind. and Meredith McWilliams and husband Charlie of Fishers, Ind.; four grandchildren, Zachary Johnson, Lucas Murphy, Emma McWilliams and Riley McWilliams; and three sisters, Dixie Woods of Keenes, Sandra Dunkel of Mt. Vernon and Rhonda Barnard of McLeansboro.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one infant daughter, Chantele Murphy.

Graveside services will held at 1 p.m. Friday at Garrison Temple Cemetery in rural Keenes with Marty Mills officiating.

Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday at Jenkins Funeral Home
in Bloomfield, Ind.
