George Washington Miller was born March 30, 1832 near Barnhill, Wayne Co, Illinois. Died May 2nd at 8 o'clock p.m., age 76 years 1 mo 8 days. He was of family of 19 children, all having preceded him in death, but two, Mrs Samuel Linder, of this city and Mrs Emeline Wade, of Johnsonville, Illinois.

He was a soldier of the civil war, serving in Co. D 1st Arkansas Infantry enlisted Nov 1861, serving until his company was mustered out.

He was four times married. He  leaves a wife and eight sons; all the children are of mature age and reside in
California and Colorado.

Neither his wife or either of the children were present at the funeral.

He was a member of M.E. Church, having held membership with that church for 56 years. His friends may be endeavord to live right and they hope and believe that he is now at rest.
