Mrs. Vernell Hutchinson, 71, of Fairfield, died early Friday morning, July 1, 1994, at the Olney Care Center. Mrs. Hutchinson, a local nurse, resided in the High-Rise until moving in February to the Care Center.

Services were held Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at Nale's Funeral Home in Fairfield.  Burial was in the Jones Cemetery in Saline County.  Visitation was Saturday night at the funeral home.

Mrs. Hutchinson was born July 1, 1923, in Saline County to Carroll and Sybil Choisser Rogers. She was a United States Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include a son, Randy Hutchinson of Fairfield; a daughter, Kathy Watson of Atlanta, Ga.; a stepdaughter, Joan Harris of Wood River; five sisters, Mildred Rogers of Godfrey; Bonnell Hafford of Eldorado; Jo Ruth Phillips of Cottage Hill; Doris Lawrence of Alton; and Hazel Andrews of Elgin; a brother, Freeman Rogers of Alton; and eight grandchildren.
