105-year-old Veda L. Madding of Mount Erie passed away at 5:10pm Saturday, July 1st, at the Burgin Manor in Olney.  She had taught at elementary schools for approximately twelve years at Mount Erie and Decatur, IL.

Surviving are one daughter, Berniece Hayes of Paris, IL; two sons, Conrad Madding of Mount Erie and John Madding of Mineral, VA; two sisters-in-law, Wilma Denny of Cape Girardeau, MO and Leona G. Shelton of Burgin Manor in Olney; thirteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and twelve great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Veda L. Madding will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, July 6, at Hosselton Funeral Home in Cisne.  Burial will be in McKendree Cemetery at Mount Erie.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 5, at the Hosselton Funeral Home in Cisne.

Memorials may be made to the Mount Erie Christian Church or the West United Methodist Church at Mount Erie, and will be accepted at the Hosselton Funeral Home in Cisne.
