Dr. Ancil K. Atteberry departed this life at his residence in Hickory Hill township, Wayne County, Illinois, April 30th, 1902, after a long illness with that dread disease, consumption.
Deceased was born in Ohio County, Kentucky,March 15th, 1838, but came to this county with his parents about the year 1840. He was twice married, and was the father of one child by each marriage, but his first wife and both his children preceded him to the better land. He leaves a wife, two brothers and three sisters to mourn the loss of a loved one.
The funeral services were conducted on Thursday afternoon, by Eld.Thompson, of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, and the body laid to rest in the family cemetary, there to await the resurrection of the just. A good man is gone, but we do not mourn as those who have no hope, as he died in the triumphs of a living faith. He many years ago set his house in order, and when the final end came he was fully prepared to meet it. May we all be as well prepared as he.
