Joe Chapman, 77, of Wayne City,  died at 12:30 p.m. Sunday at his home there. Funeral services were conducted at 10 o’clock Tuesday morning at Bailey church, northwest of Wayne City. Elder Elmer Keltcher and Elder Nile Stone were in charge of the services.

Mr. Chapman is survived by his wife; one son, Luther Chapman, of Birdseye, Ionnd.; one brother, William Chapman, of Wayne City; one sister, Mrs. Nancy E. Dawson, of Decatur; and one half-sister, Mrs. Jane Myers, of Aurora.
