Carl Ray Young, 55, died suddenly of a heart attack at 8:15 a.m. yesterday, in his office at the Texaco building. Mr. Young was senior clerk for the Texaco Pipe Line Co.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete. Friends may call the Bowman-Hancock funeral home.
Mr. Young, who had lived here on Selmaville road, for the past 15 years, was born in Sims, Dec. 15, 1904, son of Robert H. and Cora Alice Young. He was married in 1931 to Harriet Van Arsdale.
He leaves his wife, a daughter, Harlean Kay of Washington, D.C.; two sons, Robert R. of Phoenix, Ariz., and Johnny Lynn at home; three sisters, Mrs. Lola Finley of Fairfield, Mrs. Opal Atkinson of Geff, Mrs. Clarice Roney of Fithian, five stepbrothers, Albert, John, Ray, Olen, and Jesse Baker; and one stepsister, Mrs. Ester Frank.
Mr. Young was a member of First Baptist Church and was president of the Shanafelt School board of education.
