Julia Fern Detroy Bannister, 69, died Mar. 22, 1995, at Lake Ozark, Mo.

A former Fairfield girl, Mrs. Bannister died in a care center, from cancer.

She graduated with the Fairfield High class of 1944 and attended their 50th anniversary reunion here last fall.

Memorial rites were conducted at Harper Chapel Methodist Church in Osage, Mo., on Mar. 26. The body was cremated.

She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Detroy.

Surviving are her husband, Rex Bannister; a daughter, Alaskan State Senate President Drue Pearce, of Juneau, Alaska, three step-children; one grandchild; seven step-grandchildren; one sister, Marilyn Henderson, of Jacksonville, Ill., and two brothers, William Detroy, of Virginia; and Forrest Detroy of Wisconsin.
