Kenneth M. DeVore, 51, of Flora,, died at Chester, Ill., at 10:30 p.m. Sunday, Apr. 16, 1995.
He had worked a number of years in Fairfield as an American Republic Insurance agent and his family resided on West Douglas Street.
Funeral rites were conducted Thursday afternoon (today) from the Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora, with burial in Elmwood Cemetery in that city. Visitation at Frank & Bright was conducted Wednesday evening.
He was born in Flora May 31, 1943, the son of Robert James and Velma Helen Ruger DeVore. On Aug. 5, 1967, in Flora, he was married to Sharon Campbell.
He was of the Jehovah Witness faith. Mr. DeVore was a U. S. Army paratrooper during the Cuban crisis.
Memorials may be made to the Clay County Heart Fund or Cancer Fund.
He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents.
Surviving are his wife; his parents, Robert and Velma DeVore, of Flora;
one son, Shane DeVore, of Flora; four daughters, Mrs. Heath (Shavonna Michelle)
Jenkins, of Flora; Melissa DeVore, at home; Deborah Ann Wabberson, Tampa,
Fla.; and Mrs. Scott (Tammy Lee) Hutchison, of Tampa, Fla.; seven grandchildren;
one brother, Robert E. DeVore, of Washington, Ind.; and a number of aunts,
uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
