Charles Thomas Puckett, 71,  the brother of Joe Puckett, of Fairfield, died Saturday morning in New Castle, Calif., of a heart attack.

Mr. Puckett, a former Fairfield boy was being rushed to a hospital in an ambulance when he died.

Funeral services and burial are to be conducted in New Castle, Calif.

Mr Puckett was born in Fairfield, son of Charley and Lulla Puckett.  He grew up in Fairfield and was graduated from Fairfield School.  He served 11 years and 6 months in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Mr. Puckett also worked 39 years at an Air Force Base in California.  He was a member of the American Legion.

He visited his brother, Joe, in Fairfield for two weeks during October.

In his later years he became a strong advocate of conservative govenment spent hours upon hours of his time and finances in distributing literature opposing the ultra liberals in government.

Surviving are his widow, Carol; one brother, Joe, of Fairfield; one sister, Dovie Robbins, of 48 North 68 St., Scottsdale, Ariz.
