Mrs. Amanda Olive Funkhouser, well-known Burnt Prairie resident, passed away shortly after midnight Monday morning. January 1st, at the Deaconess hospital in Evansville, md. She had undergone an operation a few days before for cancer of the breast and had appeared to be improving when, it is thought, she suffered a heart attack.

The body was brought back here in the Haefele-Dixon funeral car.  Funeral services were held at two-thirty o’clock Tuesday afternoon at the Burnt Prairie Baptist church by Rev. John B. Maulding. Burial was In Liberty cemetery.

Mrs. Funkhouser was born in Burnt Prairie on January 21st. 1869 and was aged seventy-one years.
