On Saturday Thomas J. Renfro died at the home of his daughter, Minnie Atteberry, in this city, at ripe age of more than 81 years.

For almost seventy-five years, Mr. Renfro has been  a citizen of this county, and in that long stretch life he made friends that  had been true all the years, for he was true himself.

His home near Burnt Prairie was always open to his friends and a few passed it without receiving pleasant word of greeting.

The funeral services were held at the Cumberland Presbyterian church on Monday morning at 10 o'clock with the Rev. J. T. Coleman officiating and the interement was in the Simpson cemetery, near Burnt Prairie.

The following obituary of the deceased was used at the funeral services:

"Thomas J. Renfro was born in Kentucky, Dec 16th, 1840 and at the early age of 7 came to this state and spent his entire life in the community of Burnt Prairie departing this life at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Minnie Atteberry, Douglas St., of this city.  Saturday, March 4, 1922, at the ripe old age of 81 years 8 months and 18 days.

He professed faith in Christ in the year of 1875 and united with the Cumberland Presbyterian church at Burnt Prairie, where he served as an Elder for a great number of years.

He was united in marriage to Miss Mary Murphy, November 14, 1862 and to this union were born 12 children, 6 of whom survive the father.  They are Charles Loren Renfro, Nash, Okla., Mrs. Lou Puckett, of Mt. Pleasant, Ia., Mrs. Minnie Atteberry, of Fairfield, Mrs. Nancy Fulkerson, of Burnt Prairie and Davis Renfro, of Memphis, Tenn. 

As a citizen, Mr. Renfro, was a  man of conviction and was willing to do his utmost to maintain highest principles of Christian citizenship.  amiable disposition and purity of character gave him the vey first place in the loving esteem of all who knew him.

His home was a model of peacefulness and Christian  devotion which caused it to be the gathering place best of the community.

He leaves one brother, Uncle Robt. Renfro, of Mill Shoals, who is very feeble, his six children, 36 grand (end of column"  ... (the rest is missing).
