Dewey Vernon Staton quietly passed away at 7:30 p.m. May, 21, 2008 at his home in Wayne City.
Dewey was retired from the Airtex factory in Fairfield and also was a landlord in Wayne City for over 35 years. He was born to Vernon and Edith Staton on May 19, 1931. He married Roxanna Austin on Nov. 24, 1970.
Dewey is survived by his wife Roxanna Staton of Wayne City; Daughter DeAndra and husband Jason Simpson of Wayne City; special grandson, Jay Simpson; four sisters, Helen Hon of Hartford, Ill., Leota Toombs of Hartford, Ill., Olene and husband Harvey Biebra of Alton and Eleanor Lambert of Mills Shoals; two brothers, Larry Staton of Mills Shoals and Melvin Staton of Mills Shoals; father and mother-in-law, Orval and Mary Lou Austin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Edith Staton; two brothers, Edward and Wendel Staton; one sister, Wilma Lee Staton; and precious little friend, Boo Boo.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Richardson Funera Home in Wayne City. Burial will be in Thomason Cemetery in Wayne City. Visitation will be 1 p.m. till time of service 2 p.m. Saturday with the Rev. Russ Beadles conducting the service
