Mrs. William Thackery Dies

Mrs. Emma C. Thackery, 84, a lifetime resident of the Barnhill vicinity, died at 6:15 Monday evening at Way-Fair Restorium.

She was the widow of William (Bill) Thackery, who died July 12, 1952.

In Failing Health

Mrs. Thackery has been in failing health for quite some time and had suffered a stroke in May. She was in the Flora nursing home before transferring to Way-Fair last fall.

Funeral services were conducted from Nales Funeral Home Thursday afternoon (today) with Rev. Fred Reed officiating. Interment was in Burnt Prairie cemetery.

Emma C., daughter of Thomas and Jane (Simpson) Simpson was born at Barnhill May 7, 1884.

She was married to William Earnest Thackery Sept. 9, 1905.

Mrs. Thackery was a member of the Bt. Prairie Cumberland Presbyterian church.

The Survivors

Surviving are two foster daughters, Fannie, wife of Floyd Robertson, of Barnhill; and Frances wife of Angus Vaughan, of Barnhill; nine grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
