JAMES E. HARL,  son of Mr. and Mrs. Alex Harl vas born in Wayne County May 26, 1873.  He was united in marriage with Martha Felix.   Four children were bom to this union,  two sons, Pascel and Perry, and two daughters, Minta and Marie.

In his youth he professed faithh in Christ and united with the Missionary Baptist church.   In the latter years of his life he was a member of the Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist congregation.

Following several weeks of illness he passed away at the Jackson hospital in Olney on Friday morning, September 1, 1944, age 71 years, three months and five days.

Besides his immediate family he is survived by one brother William.

Funeral services were conducted from the Pleasant Grove M. B. church south of FairField, Sunday, September 3 by Rev. Roy Collins, Interment in the cemetery near the church.
