ELIZABETH A (BAILEY) FINLEY
Elizabeth A. Bailey was born April 24th, 1828, in Jefferson county, Ohio, and died June 30th, 1908, at the rounded age of 85 years, two months and six days.
She was married to James Finley, June 14, 1842. To this union were born two children, Mrs. Hiley Hall, who has preceded her to the bette land, and J. D. Finley, who still survives her.
She was married to John McKitrick, Sr., August 22, 1854. To this union were born seven children, Mrs. John Young, who has passed the transition to the heavenly; Mrs. J. F. Reinhold, of Centralia, Ill; G. M. McKitrick, or Harrisburg, Ill; F. D. McKitrick, of Hillsboro, Ill.; Samuel McKitrick, Mrs. Alice Lyons and Mrs. Chloe Chambers, living near the old home.
The deceased moved with her husband and family from Ohio to Illinois in the autumn of 1862. She professed faith in Christ when quite young, and united with the Cumberland Presbyterian church, in which faith she lived until called to the Church Triumphant.
She leaves seven children, twenty-five grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, seven stepchildren and a host of friends to mourn their loss. In her last sickness she prayed to be taken to her home above, and said she was willing and ready to go .
Her funeral was preached July 1st, at 10 a.m., in the Mount Olivet church, by Rev. J. B. Sproul, assisted by Rev. Virgil W. Gould and Rev. R. B. Ellis, and the interment was in the Bovee cemetery near by.
Dearest mother thou hast left us,
Here they loss we deeply feel,
But 'tis God hath bereft us.
He can all our sorrows heal.
