Catherine Moffitt, daughter of John and Sarah Moffitt, was born in Wayne Co. Ill., Feb. 20, 1942; and departed this life Aug. 7, 1936, aged 94 ys. 5 months and 11 days.

On April 24, 1871 she was united in marriage to H. F. Vaughan, who preceded her in death Mar. 5, 1923.  To thise union eight children were born, 4 having died in infancy.  She leaves to mourn her passing 2sons and 2 daughters, Mr. John A.,  Grover C. and Mrs. Mary Perkins all of Fairfield, and Mrs. Vitura Smith of Brownsville, Texas.  Also 5 step children:  Mrs. Celia Harris, Olney, Nancy Bonner of Portsmouth, Iowa, Daniel of Mill Shoals, Henry and Preston, both of Fairfield.
