Mrs. Macy Irene Bunting Calkins, 85, died at 8 a.m. Sunday, Apr. 28, 1996, at her home, 301 East Johnson.  She had been in declining health.

Mrs. Calkins had worked at the Farmers Store here for a number of years.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday from the Johnson Funeral Home, with Rev. Dale Bitting officiating.  Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.  Visitation at the Johnson Chapel will be from 6 to 8 Monday evening (tonight).

She was born in White County Jan. 5, 1911, the daughter of Samuel and Ida Majors Parks.  She was married to Jake E. Calkins, who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Calkins was a member of Fairfield First Baptist Church.

Surviving are a son, Ralph Bunting, of Fairfield, a daughter, Mrs. Conard (Janet) Bashore, of Fairfield; one brother, John L. Parks, of Evansville, Ind.; three sisters, May Johnson, of Carmi; Mary Helen Duckworth, of Enfield; and Marcella Garrett, of Mill Shoals; three grandchildren and six great- grandchildren.
