Mrs. Ethel Jones, 94, of Ellery, died at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Apr. 16, 1996, at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Virginia Smith, in Whittington.

She was a lifelong resident of the Ellery vicinity and a homemaker.

 Funeral rites will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday from the Ingram Funeral Home in Albion, with Rev. Bill Bunnage officiating. Interment will be in Bethel Cemetery southwest of Ellery.  Visitation at Ingram's in Albion will be 6 to 8 Thursday evening (tonight).

She was born at Ellery Oct. 19, 1901. the daughter of Lane and Alice McKibben Stroup.   On Apr. 14, 1929, she was married in Ellery to Emmitt Jones.  He passed away Nov.  14, 1983. Also preceding her in death were her parents and one great- grandson.

 Mrs. Jones was a member of the Bethel Church at Ellery and memorials may be made to that church.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Ralph (Virginia) Smith, of Whittington; one son, Clyde, of Ellery; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
