Funeral rites for William H. Walker will be at 11 a.m. Saturday from the Fred C. Dames West Chapel in Joliet, with interment in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
Mr. Walker was born at Cisne Sept. 18, 1946, the son of Silas and Nadine Farmer Walker. His father, his mother and a sister preceded him in death.
A graduate of Minooka High School, Mr. Walker received his B.A. degree from the College of St. Francs. He was a U.S. Army veteran of Vietnam, where he received two Purple Hearts for wounds which left him disabled at age 19.
Mr. Walker was a longtime member of the VFW Post at Morris, the American Legion and a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He was a volunteer for the march of Dimes and an avid pool player, wining Player of the Year honors.
He was married to Penny Yard Oct. 14, 1967.
Surviving are his wife; a brother, Gary Walker, of Channahon; one sister, Mrs. Michael (Joanne) Polk of Republic, Mo.; steps-sisters, Mary Hayes and Donna Randolph; and a number of nieces and nephews.
