Mrs. Doris L. Hill, 84, of Carmi, died at 7:06 a.m. Saturday, Apr. 13, 1996, at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.

She was a native of Burnt Prairie. Mrs. Hill was a retired school teacher.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the First United Presbyterian Church in Carmi, with burial in Maple Ridge Cemetery.  Visitation is 4 to 8 Monday evening (tonight) from the Kittinger-Fair Funeral Home in Carmi.

She was born at Burnt Prairie Apr. 12, 1912, the daughter of Andrew and Cathryn Hanks Coale.  On June 29, 1937, she was married to Earl C. Hill. He passed away Dec. 27, 1982.

Mrs. Hill was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church where she taught Sunday School for several years.

Memorials may be made to the Kemmerer Village, Assumption, Ill.

Surviving are a son, Jack E. Hill, of Springfield; one daughter, Mrs. Larry (Ruth) Myers, of McLeansboro; one sister, Bernadine Brown, of Carmi; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
