Eldon Theodore Hamilton, 85, of La Plata, Mo., died Monday evening Apr. 8, 1996, at the Kirksville Manor Care Center in Kirksville, Mo.      He was the stepfather of Mrs. Carroll (Karen) Kakac, of Fairfield.

Mr. Hamilton farmed in Macon and Adair Counties of Missouri until his retirement in 1974.

Funeral services were conducted Thursday afternoon (today) from the Travis Funeral Chapel in La Plata, Mo., with Rev. Jerry Briscoe officiating.  Burial was in Mulberry Cemetery west of Kirksville.

He was born in Kirksville, Mo., May 6, 1910, the son of Everet and Alta Culler Hamilton.      On Aug. 10, 1935. he was married to Ida Miller, who preceded him in death Feb. 27, 1973. On Aug. 3, 1974, in Atlanta, Mo., he was married to Aldena Enyart Gorbin.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son and one sister.

Mr. Hamilton was a member of the La Plata Christian Church.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

Surviving are his wife; one son, Roger Hamilton, of La Plata, Mo.; one daughter, Kathy Johnson, of Ottumwa, Iowa; one step-daughter, Mrs. Karen Kakac, of Fairfield; one brother, Douglag Hamilton, of Kirksville, Mo.; three grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one step-greatgrandson.
