Buddy D. Vest, 51, of Woodlawn and formerly of Orchardville, died at 12:18 p.m. Sunday, Mar. 31 at Good Samaritan Regional Health Center in Mt. Vernon.

He was a thoroughbred horse trainer.

Funeral rites will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday from the Hosselton Funeral Home in Cisne, with burial in Jacob's Chapel cemetery at Orchardville. Visitation will be 6 to 8 Tuesday evening at Hosselton's. He was born at Orchardville Dec. 29, 1944, the son of Arzie and Gladys Fatheree Vest.

Mr. Vest attended Mt. Catherine Christian Church at Woodlawn. He was a member of the Horseman's Benevolent & Protection Association at Collinsville.

Preceding him in death were his mother and three brothers.  Memorials may be made to the Mt. Catherine Christian Church building fund.

Surviving are a close friend, Pam Sanfilippo, of Woodlawn; one daughter, Mrs. Brent (Danette) Sanders, of Woodlawn; one son, Brent Vest, of Centralia; his father, Arzie Vest, of Wayne City; one brother, Ronnie Vest, of Iuka; two sisters, Mrs. David (Donna) Kracht, of Orchardville; and Mrs. Donald (Sharon) Sharp, of Orchardville; and three grandchildren.
