Kenneth M. Thomason, 64, retired timber worker, died at his home at 8:20 a.m. Friday, Mar. 4, 1983, following a lingering illness.
Mr. Thomason had been in declining health for the past two years following surgery for cancer.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday at the Richardson Funeral Home, of Wayne City with Bro. Melvin Farmer officiating. Burial was in the Richland Cemetery at Boyleston.
Mr. Thomason was born in Arrington township, Wayne County Aug. 26, 1918, the son of Albert and Ella (Sons) Thomason. He was married to the former Ruby Atkinson, who preceded him in death in 1979.
Mr. Thomason had previously been employed as an independent timber worker for L. L. Robertson, of Sims, and Jay McCormick, of Wayne City.
He was a member of the Sims Congregational Christian Church.
Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Eugene (Ella Mae) Owens, of Sims; Mrs. Maurice (Alice) Herzog, of Fairbury, Mrs. Dale (Diane) Laird, of Minooka; Mrs. Cecil (Brenda) Trotter and Mrs. Cecil (Velma) Manring, both of Fairfield; seven sons, Eugene, Roger, Gary and Carroll Thomason, all of Sims; Larry and Paul Thomason, both of Fairfield; Harry Thomason, of Wayne City; two sisters, Mrs. Tessie Eymons, of Goldengate; and Mrs. Pearl Harris, of Fairfield; one brother, Rev. Glen Thomason, of Fairfield; 32 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
