Dies In Centralia

Bertha Mae Peddicord, 94, of Mt. Vernon, a former Wayne County resident, died at 11:20 a.m. Tuesday in St. Mary's Hospital in Centralia.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday (today) at the Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon with Rev. Morrison Bundy officiating. Burial was in Thomason Cemetery at Wayne City.

Mrs. Peddicord was born in Wayne County Nov. 29, 1889, the daughter of John H. and Luvica (Mundy) Cope. She was married to Robert C. Peddicord who died May 2, 1983.

She is survived by five daughters, Mildred Owens, Marjorie Bond, Wanda Moss and Phyllis Rector, all of Mt. Vernon; Ruth McKeon, of Montclair Calif.; two sons, Wayne Peddicord, of Mt. Vernon and Robert Peddicord, of Herrin; 22 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
