Harold L. Metcalf, 86, a McLeansboro resident, the father of Mrs. Larry (Betty) Keil, of Wayne City, died at 3:35 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 13, 1983, at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro.      He was a retired farmer and insurance salesman.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro with Rev. David Schlag officiating. Interment will follow in IOOF Cemetery in that city.  Visitation will be conducted from 5-8 p.m. Thursday (tonight) at the funeral home in McLeansboro.

 Mr. Metcalf was born in New Memphis Jan. 10, 1897, the son of Abraham and Sarah (Hunter) Metcalf.

He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Ruby Freed, in 1980.
