Mrs. Bertha Smith, 88, of Norris City, died at 4: 25 p.m. Wednesday, Apr.20, 1983, at the Carmi Township Hospital, in Carmi.  She was the mother of Phyllis Smith and Mary Masters, both of Fairfield.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City, with Rev. Rusty Pedigo officiating.  Burial was in IOOF Cemetery.

Surviving are three sons, Ray Smith, of Spring Hill Fla., Lollie Smith, of Jacksonville, Fla., and Jan Smith, of Sheldon; two daughters, Phyllis Smith and Mary Masters, both of Fairfield; one sister, Rovilla Farris Stokes, of Tamms; 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
