Mrs. Madeline Taylor, 73, a Wayne City housewife, the wife of Hazel Taylor, died at 8:05 p.m. Friday, Apr. 22, 1983, at Good Samaritan Hospital. in Mt. Vernon . Mrs. Taylor had been hospitalized for three weeks suffering from a heart condition.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday (today) at the Richardson Funeral Home, of Wayne City, with Rev. Clifford Burney officiating. Burial was in the Thomason Cemetery at Wayne City.
Mrs. Taylor was born in Mill Shoals Nov, 13 1909, the daughter of Allan and Lou (Hutchcraft) Hall. She moved to Wayne City as a young girl and attended the Wayne City Grade School. After her parents death, she lived with Les and Louise Woods, of Fairfield until her marriage. She was married in Fairfield to Hazel Taylor Dec. 23, 1926. Mr. Taylor was employed for 20 years as a mechanic for the Fairfield Garment Co. until his retirement.
Mrs. Taylor worked at various times in her younger years as a cook for Wayne City restaurants.
She was a member of the Wayne City Baptist church.
Survivors include her husband, Hazel Taylor, of Wayne City; two sons, Donnie and Jerry Taylor, both of Wayne City; three daughters, Mrs. Donald (Mary Lou) McLean and Mrs. Art (Betty) Whitsell, both of Mt. Vernon Mrs. Mike (Aileen) Pilson, of Wayne City; one brother, Seth "Bud" Hall, of St. Louis, Mo.; 18 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren .
