Lori Karsten, 17, of Carey, the great-granddaughter of Mrs. Nellie Rudesill, of the High Rise, died following a one-car accident Thursday morning while on the way to school.  She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Opal Rudesill Karsten, of Dundee, who grew up in the Mt. Zion community.   Lori never lived in Wayne County.

Miss Karsten was the driver of an auto which veered out of control striking a tree. She was killed on impact.  Her sister, Carol, a passenger in the rear seat, escaped with minor injury. A male passenger in the front seat is listed in serious condition with head injuries.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday (today) at the Carey Lutheran Church, at Carey. Burial was in that city.  Miss Karsten is the daughter of the late Paul and Mrs. Jane Karsten.

She is survived by her mother, Jane Karsten, of Carey; one brother, Scott, at home; two sisters, Carol, at home; and Sally; her grandmother, Mrs. Opal Rudesill Karsten, of Dundee; and great-grandmother, Mrs. Nellis Rudesill, of Fairfield.
