SKETCH OF MR. HOWE
(Martin Luther Howe)
Martin Luther, son of John W. and Mary Howe, was born near Cisne, July 11th, 1879. He grew to manhood and had spent his life on a farm in the Blue Point neiighborhood, where he was well known and respected. In young manhood he confessed Christ as his Savior and united with the Cisne Christian church, where he retained his membership throughout his life.
He was united in marriage with Tacy Jane Long January 6th, 1901. Six children were born to this union. An only son, Darrell Glen, died at the age of seven.
Following several weeks of failing health, he passed away at hs home Sunday night, March 2nd, at age 67 years, 7 months and 19 days.
He is surviveds by his companion, five daughters, Mrs. Hazel Klein, of Kankakee; Mrs. Sylvia Spitzner, of near Rinard; Mrs. Alice Ellis, of Tuscola; Mrs. Gladys Altergott, of Maywood; and Mrs. Maxine Volker, of Berwyn; 12 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, one brother, C.C. Howe, of near Rinard; two sisters, Mrs. Ida Flanders, of Blue Pont, and Mrs. Lulu Wood, of Cisne.
Funeral services were conducted from the Cisne Christian church March 5th by Elder W.D. Crippin. Interment was in the Cisne cemetery.
