Lawrence Tolliver, 91, of Louisville, died at 1 a.m. Friday, Oct. 21, 1994, at the Flora Care Center. He was a retired Farmer. Mr. Tolliver was the father of Mrs. Helen Block, of Cisne.
Funeral rites were conducted Sunday afternoon from the Neal Funeral Home at Louisville, with burial in Orchard Hill Cemetery at Louisville. A visitation was held at the funeral home Saturday evening.
He was born in Clay County June 21, 1903, the son of Vanburen and Ethel Mae Murphy Tolliver. On Dec. 23, 1925, he was married to Elfleta Deain. She died in December, 1961. Later, in 1964, he married Lela L. Hackney. She passed away in 1985. Mr. Tolliver was a member of the Louisville Baptist Church and the Clay County Farm Bureau. Memorials may be made to the Louisville Baptist Church.
Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Helen Block, of Cisne; Mrs. Norma Jean Hagen, of Olney; Nita Currie, of Flora; Esther Walker, of Flora; and Alice Elledge, of Edgewood; three stepsons, Don Selby, of Tower Hill; Howard Richardson, of Wichita Falls, Tex.; and Darwin Selby, of Daytona Beach, Fla.; one sister, Ilene Holeman, of Louisville; 34 grandchildren; 62 great- grandchildren; and 9 great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death in addition to his wives and parents were one son, two stepsons, three brothers and two sisters.
