Mrs. Lurena Cisne Beck, widow of the late William Albert Beck, died Friday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. I.V. Brock in Frankfort, Ky. She had been in failing health for a long time.
The remains were returned to the Nale funeral home here. Funeral services were held at the First Christian church at ten o'clock Monday morning by Kent M. Dale, pastor. Burial was in the Pleasant Grove cemetery.
Lurena Cisne Beck, daughter of Jonah G. Cisne and Sevila Towns Cisne, was born in Wayne county January 24, 1871. She was united in marriage to William Albert Beck May 16th, 1894. To this union three children were born. One son, Leslie Donald, preceded her in death on December 16, 1947. Two daughters survive, Mrs. I.V. Brock of Frankfort, Ky., and Mrs. Leonard F. Sanford, of Fairfield. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren and three brothers, E.O. and Allen T. Cisne, of Cisne, and W.G. Cisne, of Carbondale.
She made the good confession at the age of fourteen and united with the Pleasant Grove Christian church.
In 1913 the Beck family moved to Fairfield to make their home. She transferred her membership at that time to the First Christian church of Fairfield of which she was a member at the time of her passing. Attending the funeral from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Brock, of Frankfort, Ky.; Mr. and Mrs. Max Parsons and family, of Fisher, Ill., and Mr. and Mrs. Willis G. Cisne, of Carbondale.
