A longtime Fairfield resident, Mrs. Mildred Alene (Mickey) Windle. 73, of the Fair-Way Apts., died at 8 a.m. Saturday, June 15, 1985, at Way-Fair Restorium, where she resided for two weeks.
Mrs. Windle was the wife of retired oilfield worker. Kermit Windle. She has been ill with a malignancy since December of 1984. Mrs. Windle was hospitalized recently at Fairfield Memorial Hospital and several times at Carle Clinic in Champaign.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday (today) at Johnson Funeral Home with Rev. B. R. Cummins officiating. Burial was in Thomason Cemetery at WayneCity.
A native of Aden, Mrs. Windle was born Oct. 7, 1911, the daughter of Granvill and Kate Shorb Brown. She was married to Kermit Windle Dec. 17, 1932 at Flora. No children were born to this union. Mrs. Windie was employed as a professional seamstress for many years. Early in her life, she became a member of Ellis Mound Baptist Church, south of Wayne City.
Survivors include her husband, Kermit Windle, of Faifield; one brother, Marshell Brown, of Fairfield; two sisters, Mrs. Maude Faye Butler, of Champaign;Mrs. Margie Finchney, of North Peoria; and several nephews and nieces
She was preceded in death by her parents.
