 A retired Caterpillar Company employee, Donald Yates, 74, of Morton, father of Cyril Yates, of Fairfield, died at 6 a.m. Sunday, June 9, 1985, at Methodist Hospital in Peoria.

Mr. Yates was formerly of the Carmi area.  His son is employed in the shipping department at Airtex Products. Mrs. Betty Yates, his daughter-in-law, works for Robinson Productions.

Funeral services will be held at 2 30 p.m. Tuesday at Grace Presbyterian Church in Peoria with burial to follow in East Peoria.   Visitation will be conducted from 1 p m. Tuesday at the church until funeral time.

Mr. Yates is survived by his Wife, a former Enfield resident, Mrs. Ruth Poore Yates, of Morton; two sons, Cyril Yates, of Fairfield: and Delano Yates, of Maunie, one daughter, Mrs. Brenda Kopp, of Rantoul; a sister, Mrs. Mamie Baker, of Carmi, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
