Mill Shoals township assessor, Clinton "Buck" Huffer, 76, of Springerton, died 8:05 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 25, 1985, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon. He and his wife, Betty, formerly lived for several years north of Airtex Plant One in Fairfield.
Funeral services will be held at l p.m. Wednesday at Springerton UnitedMethodist Church with interment in Hammack Cemetery. Visitation is planned after 12 noon Tuesday at Elledge Funeral Home at Enfield.
Mr. Huffer was born at Newburg, Ind., Jan. 26, 1909, the son of Augustusand Anna Phillips Huffer. He married the former Betty Jamerson Oct. 6, 1974. Mr. Huffer was a former Illinois State Highway employee.
He was a member of Springerton United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Huffer, of Springerton; three sons, Elwood Huffer, of Carmi; Joseph Savage, of Ft. Lauderdale Fla, and Dan Savage, of Delmar, Calif.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
