Donald Virgal Henson, 58, a retired City of Fairfield employee, died of an apparent heart attack at 12:40 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20, 1985, at Fairfield Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Henson worked for the Street and Alley Department for many years prior to his retirement in 1976, due to ill health.

 Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday (today) at Johnson Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Hucker officiating. Burial followed in Shrewsbury Cemetery
at Mill Shoals.

A native of Wayne County, Mr. Henson was born Dec. 11, 1926, the son of Ben and Hattie Hillard Henson.  On Aug. 16, 1956, he married the former Beverly Gardner at Boyleston.  The couple have raised a grandson, Randy, since his birth.

Mr. Henson followed the Pentecostal faith.

Surviving are his wife, Beverly Henson, of Fairfield; two sons, Steven V. Henson, of Fairfield; Donald F. Henson, of Middleburg, Fla.; one daughter, Mrs. Mike (LaDona) Moore, of Fairfield; his step-mother, Mrs. Annas Henson, of Flora Care Center in Flora: one sister, Mrs. Lula Young, of Mt. Erie; a step-sister, Delores Padden, of Center Mariches, N. Y., and three grandchildren.
