 Lewis Blackford, 78, of Mill Shoals, the father of Mrs. Eloise Carlock, of Mill Shoals, died at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 4, 1985, at Wabash General Hospital
in Mt. Carmel.

Mr. Blackford was a painter.

Funeral services are planned for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Elledge Funeral Home in Mill Shoals, with burial to follow in Burnt Prairie Cemetery.  Visitation will be conducted after 4 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Blackford was born June 12, 1907 in Illinois, the son of Thomas and Laura Puntney Blackford.  He was a member of the Mill Shoals Oddfellows Lodge.

Survivors include one son, Max Blackford, of Albion; a daughter, Mrs. Eloise Carlock, of Mill Shoals; one sister, Mrs. Alma Ebmeyer, of Evansville, Ind.; one brother. Spencer Blackford, of Elsie, Mich., nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
