Mrs. Myrtle Wood Holt, of Wayne City, died at 7:10 a.m. Thursday at Fairfield Memorial Hospital, where she had been a patient for nine weeks. She was 71 years, 1 month and 24 days of age. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Myers Chapel. The Rev. Charles Johnson of Wayne City will officiate and burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.  The body will lie in state at Myers Chapel, where friends may call at any time.

Mrs. Holt was born May 10, 1886 in Wayne County, the daughter of Isaac and Isabelle (Calvert) Payne. She was a member of the Wayne City Christian Church.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. E.C. Moody of Warren, Ohio; three brothers, Cal Payne of Wayne City, Ray Payne of Cass City, Mich., and Robert Payne of Minneapolis, Minn.; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Williamson of Alton, Ill. and Mrs. Hattie Scranton of Wayne City; one granddaughter and one great-granddaughter.
